Glenn is a successful accountant and CFO who has supported small owner managed businesses across the North East for over 30 years.
Initially training with a local accounting firm where he gained a raft of all round accounting skills, he later moved onto CFO roles with Apartment Group (Hospitality) & Gainford Group (Healthcare & Hospitality) where he gained in depth commercial knowledge, the likes of which is not normally found within an accounting practice. He can therefore offer a very range of accounting, finance and general business support. He has also built up an excellent network of business contacts who can provide the things he can not, and prides himself on the quality of his network of business associates
In 2016 he decided to return to supporting small business by launching Avery Martin Accountants, which provided specialist CFO services to new start ups and growing businesses alongside more traditional accounting services delivered in partnership with Xero software, who saw fit to award him the Best Sole Trader accountant in 2018/19.
Glenn has a real passion for local business, and has a love of artisan food and drink producers, and he currently supports some excellent start up businesses in that sector. He also has strong values around creating a genuine work life balance for business owners by helping them to create the time and head space to enjoy their time away from their business, as much as they do running the business day to day.
Away from the office, Glenn’s family is everything to him and he spends at the their home in Northumberland with his wife Judith, daughter Iza and their various pets. He loves all things outdoors and spends his weekends fishing, boating, paddle boarding and mountain biking all of which he does equally badly.
